As remembered by Jim Zwerg
September 2, 2020
He was active in the Nashville Student Movement, actively taking part in sit-ins in 1960 and stand-ins in 1961. He was one of the 10 Nashville students who continued the Freedom Rides when CORE quit. He was arrested in Jackson and was John Lewis's cellmate. Bill served as the unofficial "official" historian of the Nashville Movement.
