Volunteered and participated in local marches and protests. I was put in jail in Americus/Sumter County, Georgia plus served as a witness in Federal Court in a case regarding the Writ of Habeas Corpus. Our trip to jail was because I stated that "we, (a group of 5 male students), are going to Belk's to get shirts for the Art Festival," the arresting officer told the Chief that I said "we are going to march at the white folks Episcopal Church". The days of civil disobedience meant serving a cause/purpose plus fighting to right a wrong.
