I worked during the Summer of 1964, helping to establish a community center in Clarksdale, MS. Also, I worked on the MFDP registration. I attended the 2nd wk of orientation at Western College for Women in Oxford, OH. Going to Mississippi meant that I was actually doing what I believed was right. That attitude continues to prevail in my life. I have since served in the Peace Corps and now work as a psychiatric social worker. Everyone needs to feel that he/she is a meaningful part of this world, no matter his/her status.
