I spent a year organizing in Helena and developed a newsletter called "Jim's Gem" to mobilize interest in the movement. I left due to a sickle cell crises and went to college and directed Upward Bound programs to increase underrepresented students pursuing college degrees until poor health and loss of eye sight required me to retire.
