I was a student at Tougaloo College in the fall semester of 1962-63 and was in Holly Springs during the Freedom Summer of 1964, working in the voting rights project. I was in the Peace Corps in Senegal from 1966 - 1968. Later, I was very active in the anti-war movement. Of all my experiences, I think my time in Mississippi was among the most formative and inspiring, though I have not been as active in recent years in working toward the goals we all had back then.
