I ran workshops and did organizing to make sure we had enough people for demonstrations. I motivated people to volunteer to go to jail. I ran voter registration workshops. I worked with the Poor People's Co- op. I helped educate the white volunteers in ways to keep from being killed.
I felt that involvement in the Civil Rights Movement was something I had to do for everyone, myself included.
I am now retired, living in Northern Wisconsin and fishing every day that the lake isn't frozen over.
